Another year round the sun. I thought a new year marked the occasion for a new coat (although I never need a reason!)

The ending of an old year and beginning of a new one always makes me feel positive. It’s a great time to reflect on all the good bits of last 12 months, forget (and leave behind) the bad, and look forward to the next year and its potential for change, as well as continuity. It doesn’t have to be about structured resolution-setting; ring in 2019 in a way that works for you. For me it’s been about reflecting on the journeys that 2018 brought, understanding what I learnt, and using these lessons to help evolve next year. I’ve set lots of intentions, but few are measurable, structured or strict because I don’t want to live that way. Some of my most important ‘ideas’ or ‘objectives’ include…

1. work smarter not longer. force does not bring effective results and stifles enjoyment.  2. keep being green and making environmentally-conscious choices.   3. follow my creativity and pursue more creative outlets.   4. understand that ‘goals’ and desires can manifest in many forms. enjoy the uncertainty.   5. spend less time online.  6. yoga, meditation, reading.   7. say yes more. also appreciate the power of knowing when to say no.   8. keep growing professionally. being open and ready for opportunities.   9. value and honour the need for rest.
