“Evening outfits don’t have to be sights of complete sartorial controversy, but I find the darkness of the night and insobriety of the company provide the perfect opportunity for experimentation.“I don’t go ‘out’ that often- which has much to do with working continuous Saturday mornings and also hating hangovers. This is a shame, because I love spending an evening dancing the night away. Nevertheless, hardworking Cinderella has to have a fitting ball gown, and due to my paucity of night-time activity, I take these opportunities to be a little more daring and put a bit more thought into my outfits. Therefore, I’ve decided to start a series documenting my outfits.
‘Daring’, however can mean different things to different people. For some it might involve simply wearing a little more colour, for others it may mean being more revealing, and for others it may entail complete wackiness. Evening outfits don’t have to be sights of complete sartorial controversy, but I find the darkness of the night and insobriety of the company provide the perfect opportunity for experimentation. I like ‘road-testing’ more playful pieces in the p.m, which boosts my confidence in wearing them in the daytime and gives me a better idea of styling. This is what I did with these sparkly jeans, which I would wear in the daytime with a simple jumper and trainers.
