Best in Bristol No.1: Papadeli

I’ve decided to start a ‘Best in Bristol‘ series to discuss some of my favourite spaces in the city. Bristol is a creative, youthful city, with rich heritage and culture and loads of green and there’s a broad and diverse range of options for eating and drinking. The best of these are independent and we should champion them! Papadeli at 84 Alma Road (tucked round round the corner of Whiteladies Road) is a good place to start, and is probably my favourite spot in the city. The tiny space is stacked to the roof with quality mediterranean produce, and the cafe offers loads of fresh and delicious homemade salads and snacks (think quiches, tortillas…picnic heaven) and some of the most decadent cakes. We like the sharing boards which are a great option for groups, but I would recommend taking a look at their Instagram to see the abundance of treats they offer because one post cannot do justice to their seasonal and changing range. Papadeli cater for weddings and events and have a cookery school upstairs too. Instagram: @papadeli
